The Dambulla Cave Temple, also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla, is

The temple is situated about 160 meters (520 feet) above the surrounding plains,

through tropical vegetation and encountering monkeys along the way.

The caves are decorated with over 2,000 square meters of painted murals, showcasing stories from Buddhist scripture (Jataka tales) and scenes from local history. 
These paintings are considered masterpieces of ancient Sinhalese art.
4. Golden Temple Entrance
At the base of the rock, visitors pass through the modern Golden Temple, characterized by a large golden Buddha statue that serves as a striking introduction to the historical site.
5. Panoramic Views
The elevated position of the temple provides breathtaking vistas of
the surrounding plains, dotted with paddy fields, villages, and distant
mountains. A perfect location for panoramic photography.
